A special survey conducted by International Leisure World Magazine during and after the 2007 Moscow International MICE forum continues to reveal many interesting statistics and trends regarding the development of the Russian MICE industry:

– MICE business from Russia is set to increase by more than 200% in 2008
– Busiest time for Russian MICE is October-April with 68% of events taking place

– Busiest single Month is February with more than 18% of the total events being held
– Largest sector of the industry is Conferences with more than 29%
– Incentive tours account for 16% and seminars abroad for 11%
– 44 Countries were indicated as destinations for MICE travel from Russia
– Turkey has the largest sector with 8.85% followed by France 8.41% & Germany with 6.9%
– Other leading countries were Italy, UK, Spain, Austria, Egypt, UAE and China

– 39% of all MICE groups have 21-100 participants



The buyer/visitor profile to the Moscow International MICE Forum indicated that more than 64% were qualified MICE professionals, 11% were Corporate Buyers representing leading Russian companies. Trade Buyers were the largest sector covering Business Travel Companies with MICE departments and smaller, highly specialised companies also handling MICE business for their regular clients.



The results of the second MICE statistics for Russia provide a reliable basis on which to compare with future information. The market is expanding fast and specialisation will enable the market to grow.



The survey also indicated a growing interest amongst Russian businesses who now value the importance of motivating staff though incentives and spectacular product launches, in addition to the great advantages of arranging Meetings abroad and attending International Conferences.

-72 participating companies from 29 countries including:- Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, India, Italy, Jordan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Slovakia, South Africa, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine and Vietnam. The total floor space was 1,500 m2



This highly concentrated 1-day event attracted 623 registered professional visitors including an increased number of International visitors. The percentages of the visitors are as follows:

The Moscow International MICE Forum has established itself as the leading MICE event in the Russia and the CIS with Russian speaking professional visitors from:- Russia 82%, Armenia 1%,Azerbaijan 2%, Belarus2%, Kazakhstan 3%, Moldova 1%, Ukraine 7%, Uzbekistan 2%
